Hi Josh, I've just purchased this laptop for testing and I must say I'm taken aback by the fact that - when plugged in to 2x 27 QHD monitors - the fans simply WON'T SHUT UP. I've tried various myHP settings and even in "Silent" I can still hear them running, even though Lenovo Yoga 7 plugged into the same setup is dead silent. Would you happen to know any solution for this? This is the very same reason why I went for Lenovo Yoga 7 3 years ago - every single HP Elitebook, Envy laptop I'd tested (even the ones with AMD Ryzen) were constantly spinning their fans. I really wanted to switch to HP due to their fantastic keyboards, capacitive touchapd and build quality, but I won't pay double the price for a laptop that's making noises all the time.

The combination of three things makes the starting 8GB absolutely inexcusable: * Low RAM means you'll be swapping to disk a whole lot. * The SSD is soldered and serialized so you can't replace it, or at best, it's a massive pain. * The FIRMWARE is on the SSD, so if the SSD dies, the WHOLE MACHINE IS BRICKED. That last one is especially inexcusable. Dude, put the firmware on a separate device, so if the SSD dies, you can at least boot external!

towards the end it's just peak stupidity. do you even know anything about memory types and bandwidth?

Intel weather its core i3 i5 i7 even after a decade no depression infact appreciated so surrpsing.

So is it worth to wait for new chip or get my first macbook pro m3 pro chip now instead?

Whatever they do it's not worth buying and I'm not buying a machine that becomes a pricey brick once one single ssd chips fries itself.

Since you include user repairability on your list i include open source drivers and firmware in mine so people can choose an os worth using

Josh, while all those improvements would be great. The one you forget is the cheap feeling oil attracting keyboard. Also, if this chip is so much more efficient, can we make it thinner and lighter and make the 14 inch 14.5 and 16 inch 16.5.

I love mac there amazing but when it comes to it's software and compatibility it's not even close to number one 😅

Always find that despite AMD processprs generally outperforming at a given price point that for some reason they struggle to get design wins from the laptop makers, who either always have a higher proportion of intel offerings and i some cases even intel only designs. I mran its not like AMD is an upstart, and if anything they are doing very well in critical apps such as server. So whats going on? I feel like someone's arm's being twisted

Gaming performance - don't forget that all these games run in emulated mode. That should speak well to emulation performance in general.

The price of this is a lot lower than M3 MAX, so no surprise it can't beat that. That it competes with M3 PRO for a lot of tasks is fantastic!

You are appreciated - Thank you. Yeah... I think more and more, consumers are becoming more sensitive to being taken advantage of - Apple/Mac is one of the worst. Mac products need to match the proclamation of being products for people, not we are going to take advantage of you.

Said it before: I rather use a base MacBook Air M1 than ANY Flagship Windows laptop. To me, It's all about the Operating System.
